Thoughts for the New Year

Thanks to all those who commented in the last post.
Here are some new questions for 2009.
What is the one thing that you want to accomplish this upcoming year?
What is the one thing that you would like to see happen? (a very general question)

Great Q! I dig seeing what other people are planning to improve.

Ideally I'd like to take a bit better care of the 'temple' I've been given.

What would I like to see happen this year? I'd like conditions to change so that people can feel a bit more life security. (But then one wonders if life security removes the desire to improve their own situations, or to rely on God.)

I plan on playing as much shinny as I can before the snow melts in the this coming year.
And what would I like to see happening? Well Canada winning the world juniors to start with.

I came across this today and it pretty much wraps up what my hope is for 2009:

"Praise the Lord, O my soul and forget not all his benefits --

who forgives all your sins
and heals all your diseases,

who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion

who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's" (Psalm 103: 2-5)

I want that to become real to me.

This feels like a cop-out, but what I really want this year is to figure out the answers to those two questions... ie, to set some goals and figure out what I'm doing beyond the next week or two.

I'm starting 2009 with a lot of optimism though... anything could happen in a year!

1. Survive

2. I would like to live life the way God intended me to live it.

She. It's an interesting point that your answer to 2. brought up.
I have heard that people tend to turn to faith more when things are bad. Church attendance goes up and other things like that.
